New Ambulance for Waroona

Monday 5th January 2009 marked the arrival of our brand new Mark VI Mercedes Ambulance. The vehicle is state of the art and along with our hard working local Volunteer Ambulance Officers provides the people of Waroona and surrounds with a high level service.
(we sincerely apologise to those we may have woken up when we were “testing” the sirens).
The new ambulance had little time to settle in to its new home as within minutes of it being fully stocked and ready to go, we were contacted to do a Priority One callout.
For the Volunteer Ambulance Officers, having the additional working space in the rear cabin is a vast improvement. It increases officer comfort and safety for all in the back on sometimes long trips.
The vehicle is hard to miss with its green, white and fluorescent yellow colouring, and bright red white and blue beacons. Make sure you give our crews a big wave when you see the ambulance out and about as they all give their time for callouts and training voluntarily.
Our sincere thanks go to Lotteries West, Shire of Waroona, Alcoa Australia and Iluka for their donations to the purchase of the vehicle.
