A bagful of knitted teddy bears was recently donated to Waroona St John Ambulance. Made by Coral Culling on behalf of the Trefil Guild - part of the Guides Association - the teddies are given by Ambulance Officers to young kiddies who may be in need of comfort. Free Online First Aid Course

'Crash Course ' extended to July 31st 2008! This fun, yet useful 'Crash Course' gives you the basic knowledge to 'Do Something' before the ambulance arrives. Waroona Ambulance recently visited the children at the Waroona Childcare Centre. There were about 12 children on the day, all eagerly awaiting the arrival of the ambulance. One of the girls demonstrated receiving oxygen via an oxygen therapy mask. One of the boys demonstrated being hooked up to a heart monitor so that the rest of the class could see the heart working. On the 7th November 2006, 14 Year 10 students from Waroona District High School completed a Basic Resuscitation First Aid Course as part of the Driver Education Program that is conducted every year by the Waroona Police.  This course qualifies you to perform basic life support skills and includes the DRABCD Action Plan, how to place someone in the recovery position, choking, CPR, how to recognise and manage heart conditions and how to control external bleeding.  All 14 students passed ...
