Am I covered if I help someone?

If I provide First Aid to someone, and something goes wrong, am I covered?

Yes, you are covered by the Civil Liability Act of 2002, providing that the First Aid you have administered is within the scope of your qualification.

If you administer First Aid which you have not been formally trained to do, and something goes wrong, you will be liable.

The Good Samaritan act was replaced by the Civil Liability Act of 2002 and covers Volunteers, Food and other Donors.
